The cook will be responsible for the general supervision of the nutrition program and all related food services of the child care and preschool and for the maintenance of the facility in a hygienic, safe, and presentable condition. Ensure all children with food allergies and/or special needs are provided an alternate food item as approved by the Director and the child’s physician. Monday – Friday, 7am to 4pm with an hour lunch break. Will prepare and provide breakfast, lunch and 1 snack. Inventory of supplies and preparing bi-weekly food order. Maintain required annual training and the required Food and Sanitation Certification(s) according to state and health regulations. Label, Date & Stock pantry and cooling units when food truck arrives. Print out monthly menu to be posted and sent home with the children. Keep the kitchen and cafeteria area clean and organized including doing the dishes and following Health and Sanitary requirements of the state. Team player with a love for children.
HS diploma and a clear background check required.
At least 6 months experience cooking for young children or working in a cafeteria.
Some experience with the CACFP helpful.
Must be dependable, committed to this job and Palmetto Preschool, courteous and gracious with children, parents and staff.
