Toddlers at Palmetto Preschool thrive with our RELATIONSHIP-BASED CARE approach. Our staff of dedicated professionals spend time developing a partnership with families, and each toddler is assigned a primary care-giver who follows their development.
Teachers in Palmetto Preschool’s toddler program provide sensitive and attentive interactions with the toddlers in their care to ensure that every toddler builds strong attachments that will lay the foundation for their development in all areas.
At Palmetto, our RELATIONSHIP-BASED care approach ensures that toddlers:
Learn to EXPLORE the world around them by having supportive adults that encourage exploration with familiar and new materials and experiences. Teachers show enthusiasm for each new discovery, and talk about and share enjoyment as each toddler learns new things or tries a new activity.
Learn to manage their EMOTIONS by having caregivers that are attentive to their social and emotional cues and consistently respond with patience, kindness, and attention.
Learn SOCIAL SKILLS by experiencing positive relationships with their caregivers who model and encourage empathy, making kind choices, and helping others.
Develop MOTOR SKILLS by having safe and well-supervised environments, inside and outside, where toddlers have many and varied experiences to develop both their large and small muscles.
Develop LANGUAGE SKILLS by having teachers who pay close attention to what the toddlers in their care are trying to communicate and responding consistently, modeling good conversational skills. Teachers also sing songs, introduce finger plays, and read books daily to assist with language skill development.
Develop COGNITIVE SKILLS by being introduced to interesting materials, toys, and sensory experiences that help toddlers expand on their knowledge, imagination, and problem-solving skills.
